DirecTV to Bring Back Versus Network

It’s being reporting that DirecTV, a satellite television provider to more than 18 million homes, has finally agreed to bring back the Versus Network after dropping the edgy channel this past September.

Sources close to the situation confirmed to CagePotato.com Thursday afternoon that DirecTV subscribers will be able to order Versus starting next week.

Unfortunately, that does nothing for this Saturday’s “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz” event in Columbus, Ohio. However, if the report holds true, it comes just in the nick of time for Octagon fans as they can now watch the UFC’s Versus debut, “UFC on Versus: Vera vs. Jones,” on March 21st.

Although Versus used to come with their Choice Package programming, DirecTV will now put the network on a special sports tier that would require customers to PAY a premium for the network’s content.

AWESOME! There’s nothing like having to pay for something that you used to get for free …

Including this Saturday’s show, DirecTV customers will have missed out on a total of five WEC mixed martial arts events.
