Everyone thought that Alistair Overeem and Mirko Cro Cop would fight again on New Year’s Eve after their first encounter ended in a no contest due to low blows. Instead, Cro Cop has been given a fight against Hong Man Choi for FEG’s year end event – “Dynamite!!”

“It was the organizations wish that I fight him and I take my orders from them,” Cro Cop said during a recent interview.

After getting dominated for the first six minutes against Overeem, Cro Cop could no longer continue and the referee was forced to rule their fight a no contest. There’s no doubt that Overeem is the most disappointed in FEG’s decision not to give him another crack at the Croatian striker.

Now, Cro Cop will look to rebound against a formidable opponent who gave Fedor Emelianenko a run for his money last New Year’s Eve.
