It looks like Tim Sylvia won’t be making his Dream debut in Japan after all. MMAFighting is reporting that Sylvia has pulled out of the card after being given another opponent on only two weeks notice.
“They wanted me to fight one guy then they tried to switch opponents on me 2 weeks before I fight,” Sylvia tweeted.
Interestingly enough, Sylvia was offered a fight with Josh Barnett, but declined to fight the fellow former UFC champion. He actually had agreed on an opponent, but backed out once he found out his new challenger had changed.
Sylvia is still looking to get his MMA career back on track after going 1-2 since leaving the UFC, including an embarrassing knockout loss to Ray Mercer.
It appears as though he’s aiming to fight Mariusz Pudzianowski and Wes Sims in April and June, respectively.
