Quinton Jackson

Quinton Jackson has been written off by many MMA “experts” over the past few months and questioned whether he deserved another match-up with Wanderlei Silva, a guy who had already defeated him twice. It was Jackson though who proved the doubters wrong as he knocked out Silva in the 1stRound with a stinging left hook and follwed it up with three unanswered punches to further prove the point that he is capable of being the UFC light heavyweight champion once again.

UFC president Dana White had all but confirmed that Wanderlei Silva would be the #1 contender to the UFC light heavyweight title if he could get past Jackson for the 3rd time in his career. Unfotuantely for Silva, Jackson caught him with a punch that he was unable to asnwer.

“I’ll tell you, everything happens for a reason, that’s a fight that I really wanted. I couldn’t sleep. This guy beat me twice and I know I could beat him,”  Jackson said after the fight.

Beat him he did as Silva laid unconscious on the Octagon mat as former UFC champion Chuck Liddell was shown shaking his head in amazement.

“I know I could beat that guy. The UFC is the best show in the world, why not come and beat him in the UFC,” Jackson continued.

With his fourth victory in the Octagon, Jackson has a plethora of opportuntities ahead of him while Silva must contemplate how much more he’s willing to give to the fight game after another brutal knockout.
