For those who think the economy in the United States is just about done, you’re sorely mistaken. The UFC drew well over $3 million for last night’s UFC 92 card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two titles changed hands and a light heavyweight exacted some revenge as the UFC drew solid numbers for their year end card.
The nubmers for UFC 92 obviously weren’t as high as UFC 91, where former WWE champion Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Couture for the UFC heavyweight title, but the amount of money pulled in was more than respectable.
UFC 66, where Chuck Liddell defeated Tito Ortiz for a second time, still holds the record for the biggest live gate in UFC history.
Although the economy has had an effect on the UFC, don’t expect it to handicap the organization as Dana White and company continue to put on solid cards to keep the Pay-Per-View buys going.
