Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has many options in front of him after his devastating knockout of Wanderlei Silva at UFC 92: “The Ultimate 2008”. During the post-fight press conference, Jackson made it clear that he wants to get his title back, but also said, “I’d rather go and fight Forrest [Griffin].”
The only problem is that UFC president Dana White may give Jackson an immediate title shot against Rashad Evans now that Silva is out of the title picture. It was supposed to be Silva who was in line for a title shot with a win on Saturday, however Jackson quickly derailed those plans by knocking out the Brazilian.
“It does make sense for Rampage to get a title shot,” White stated.
Outside of Lyoto Machida, there really is no other fighter in the light heavyweight division that can make a legitimate claim for a title shot other than Jackson.
Machida is set to face Thiago Silva, who also holds a perfect 13-0 record, at UFC 94.
White stated that he and UFC matchmaker Joe Silva were going to take some time to discuss their options in the 205-pound division.
