Dream Strikeforce Lightweight Shinya Aoki

The originally scheduled fight between “JZ” Calvancante (14-1-1) and Shinya Aoki (11-2-0) was considered by many MMA experts to be the fight of the night for the Yarennoka! New Year’s Eve card.

Unfortunately “JZ” was forced to pull out due to injury according to the event’s official website.

The website also announced Aoki’s new opponent for Yarennoka!, Jung Bu Kyung (0-0-0) was a silver-medalist at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in Judo but will be making his Mixed Martial Arts debut.

Calvancante’s removal has some thinking the card has lost its luster, but the rest of the card is still stacked and we still get to see the return of Fedor Emelianenko (26-1-0).

Here’s how the new M-1 Supported Yarennoka! card breaks down now:

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Hong Man Choi

Kazuo Misaki vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama

Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Luiz Azeredo

Hayato Sakurai vs. Hidehiko Hasegawa

Matsuhiro Ishida vs. Gilbert Melendez

Makoto Takimoto vs. Murilo Bustamante

Shinya Aoki vs. Jung Bu Kyung

Make sure you set your alarms to wake up to watch the event, as it’s going to air LIVE on HDNet at 3AM on Monday, December 31st.
