After avenging his controversial loss to Kevin Burns at “The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale” last month, up-and-coming UFC welterweight Anthony Johnson will be taking on Luigi Fioravantivi at “UFC Fight Night 17” on February 7th.
After losing to Burns in their initial matchup via an eye poke that went uncalled by the referee, Johnson knocked him out in the 3rdRound of their rematch with a devastating head kick. Johnson currently holds a 6-2 professional record and is 3-2 inside of the Octagon.
Fioravantivi has won three of his last four bouts, including a unanimous decision victory over Brodie Farber at “UFC Fight for the Troops.”
UFC Fight Night 17 will be taking place at USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida. The main bouts will be airing LIVE on Spike TV.
MMAJunkie.com confirmed the bout with sources close to the situation, and fight agreements should be signed within the week.
