WEC light heavyweight Mark Munoz will be making his Octagon debut against former “The Ultimate Fighter 3” contestant Matt Hamill. It has been confirmed that both sides have turned in their signed fight contracts, and the two will square off on the televised portion of the UFC 96 event in Columbus, Ohio on March 7th.
MMAWeekly.com confirmed that the 32-year-old Hamill signed this bout as part of his new six-fight contract with the UFC. The popular wrestler defeated former IFL veteran Reese Andy by TKO in his last Octagon outing at UFC 92.
Munoz was signed by the UFC after his previous employer, the WEC, decided to eliminate their middle and light heavyweight divisions. Zuffa, LLC, the parent company for the UFC and WEC, decided that the undefeated 30-year-old Filipino fighter was worthy of the promotion.
