During Saturday’s UFC 93 event, the organization officially announced that former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will headline the UFC 96 event in Columbus, Ohio against Keith Jardine.

Up until this bout was announced, the card was lacking the blockbuster appeal that most of the UFC events offer. Rampage’s addition to the card will certainly generate more excitement.

Rampage looked impressive in his 1stRound knockout victory over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 92. Posting another convincing win over Jardine would certainly assist him in his hopes of earning a shot at the title.

Jardine defeated Brandon Vera in his last bout at UFC 89, however is only 2-2 in his last four bouts.
