Due to Affliction lightweight Chris Horodecki’s inability to receive medical clearance from the California State Athletic Commission to compete at this weekend’s “Day of Reckoning” event, the organization is heavily considering promoting the welterweight bout between Jay Hieron and Jason High to the pay-per-view portion of the card.

At yesterday’s Affliction press conference, vice president Tom Atencio stated that Horodecki was forced to withdraw from the event and that the organization was currently searching for a last-minute replacement.

Today, it was announced that Bobby Green would be replacing Horodecki to face Dan Lauzon.

It was later confirmed that Horodecki lacks 80 percent strength in his right arm due to a bulging disk in his neck.

Hieron was once considered a top level competitor in the 170-pound division, and since joining UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture’s Xtreme Couture camp in Las Vegas just a few years ago, he finally seems to be living up to those expectations. Hieron has won six of his last seven bouts, and is currently riding a four fight winning streak.

Little known High holds a perfect 6-0 professional record, however Hieron will be his toughest test to date. The most notable win in his young MMA career came against UFC fighter Kevin Burns just last year. Burns defeated up-and-coming UFC welterweight Anthony Johnson at “UFC Fight Night 14” this past July.

Affliction’s second ever MMA event will be taking place this Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The preliminary bouts can be seen for free on HDNet at 7:30PM EST and the main bouts will be available on PPV at 9PM EST.

If this change becomes official, here is how “Day of Reckoning’s” lineup shakes out:

Preliminary Bouts (HDNet):

Dan Lauzon vs. Bobby Green

Albert Rios vs. Antonio Duarte
LC Davis vs.Bao Quach
