Last night, Affliction Entertainment vice president Tom Atencio announced that the preliminary attendance for their “Day of Reckoning” event was 13,228. This is a fairly significant drop of 11% from their debut promotion, “Banned,” which was also held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California last July.

The California State Athletic Commission will confirm the official gate attendance, as well as gate ticket sales, within the week.

On July 19, “Affliction: Banned” drew in a total attendance of 14,832, which was good for a live gate ticket total of $2,085,510.

Of the 14,832 total tickets, 11,242 were sold, and 3,590 were complimentary. The CSAC reported that 15,572 tickets were available for that event, and 740 went unsold/unused.

Although “Day of Reckoning” contained many of the same fighters as their debut event, Affliction’s followup promotion was much more exciting overall. The current economic conditions surely had a hand in the drop in attendance.
