After witnessing two heavy underdogs steal the show at “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz,” gamblers have been itching to find where their next big MMA payday will come from. Thankfully, “UFC 111: St-Pierre vs. Hardy” will be popping off this Saturday just in time for gambleholics to get their fix.
Although welterweight king Georges St-Pierre is expected to steamroll British slugger Dan Hardy in the evening’s featured bout, dropping perfectly good dough on GSP at -800 might not be the best way to invest your money.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir enters his interim title match with Shane Carwin as a slight favorite (-155) to hand Carwin his first professional blemish. It’s expected that the winner will unify the strap with reigning champ Brock Lesnar later this summer.
Some MMA enthusiasts thought Carwin would be a larger underdog entering the shootout, particularly when you take into account that his resume isn’t as decorated and he lacks championship experience.
Outside of the featured attraction, most of the betting lines are fairly close so it should provide for an exciting night of fights inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
