Saunders Off Ohio Card, McCrory In

Former “The Ultimate Fighter 6” contestant Ben Saunders has injured his foot and will be forced to withdraw from his UFC 96 bout against Ryan Madigan. The UFC wasted no time in finding his replacement, as Tamdan McCrory will step in on just four weeks notice to fight in front of the Columbus, Ohio crowd.

On Monday evening, MMAWeekly.com confirmed the change with sources close to the situation.

McCrory lost his last bout to Dustin Hazelett at UFC 91 in November. He currently holds a 2-2 record inside the Octagon.

Madigan will be making his UFC debut, however holds a perfect 5-0 MMA record. He has a solid kickboxing background, however he has submitted his last two opponents.

Saunders looked impressive in his last Octagon bout where he TKO’ed Brandon Wolff with a vicious barrage of knees at “UFC Fight Night 16 – Fight for the Troops” in December. It has not been confirmed how long Saunders will be sidelined.

UFC 96 will be headlined by former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson taking on Keith Jardine. Here are the other fighters Rumored to be competing in the night’s event:
