The Florida State Athletic Commission announced that four fighters that competed in this past Saturday’s  “UFC Fight Night 17” have been issued medical suspensions for injuries sustained in their respective bouts. Denis Stojnic, Luigi Fioravanti, Matt Grice, and Derek Downey will each be forced to sit the sidelines for a 30-day period.

Stojnic was suspended for a precautionary 30 days after he suffered a 2ndRound TKO loss to Cain Velasquez.

Fioravanti will also be out for 30 days following his 1stRound TKO loss to Anthony Johnson.

Grice received a 30-day suspension following his first round TKO loss to Matt Veach.

It was a rough weekend for the little-known Downey, a triple-whammy, if you will. After being submitted in the 2ndRound of his Octagon debut against Nick Catone, he was subsequently released from the UFC, then issued a 30-day suspension by the FSAC for his troubles.
