UFC welterweight Karo Parisyan tested positive for pain killers after his UFC 94 bout against Dong Hyun Kim. Parisyan defeated the talented Korean by a close Split Decision. Parisyan is facing a fine, suspension and the possibility of having his win overturned to a No Contest.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission reported that Parisyan had unacceptable levels of Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone and Oxymorphone in his system.
Along with Parisyan, the NSAC tested a total of twelve UFC 94 fighters, including UFC welterwight champ Georges St. Pierre, B.J. Penn, Lyoto Machida, Thiago Silva, Clay Guida, Jon Jones, Jake O’Brien, John Howard, Thiago Tavares, Stephan Bonnar and Nate Diaz.
All competitors except for Parisyan test negative for all banned substances, as well as drugs of abuse.
The Armenian will await directions from the Commission as to what his fate will be.
