After Thiago Alves was forced off tonight’s card, UFC 111 was left with only three non-televised preliminary bouts after the organization promoted the lightweight scrap between Kurt Pellegrino and Fabricio Camoes to the pay-per-view broadcast.
Former “The Ultimate Fighter 7” contestant Matthew Riddle was well on his way to a unanimous decision victory before an illegal upkick by Greg Soto caused the fight to be stopped at 1:30 in the 3rdRound.
Riddle was awarded a disqualification victory.
In the second preliminary bout, Jared Hamman won a close unanimous decision over Rodney Wallace after all three judges awarded Herman a 29-28 score, improving his record to an impressive 12-2.
Submission expert Rousimar Palhares easily took care of business, as he submitted Thomas Drwal with a heel hook only 45 seconds into their contest.
Make sure to watch Spike TV’s two free preliminary bouts starting at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
