For its first pay-per-view event, the WEC has enlisted the help of UFC president Dana White and Joe Rogan to beef up its production value for WEC 48 and add a little more excitement to April 24th’s card.
Current WEC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will defend the title against the former champion, Urijah Faber, in Faber’s hometown of Sacramento, California.
Aldo has been steamrolling past everyone that the WEC has put in front of him, including the now former champion Mike Brown.
Once a dominant champion, Faber is looking to get the belt that he lost to Brown back for California.
Oddsmakers have the hometown hero as the underdog, and it’ll be interesting to see how Aldo handles the crowd reaction, as well as fighting someone who may be just as explosive a striker as he is.
