With their WEC 39 event just days away, the organization was forced to replace Richard Crunkilton with Ricardo Lamas to face Bart Palaszewski on March 1st. Crunkilton recently sustained an undisclosed injury while preparing for the lightweight bout.

It was believed that the Crunkilton-Palaszweski matchup was a top contender bout, with the winner earning the next crack at champion Jaime Varner’s belt.

Although the WEC officially removed Palaszewski from the lineup on their website, it is being reported that his bout with Lamas will be televised on the Versus Network this weekend.

Lamas is a Illinois native that holds a perfect 5-0 record. This will mark his WEC debut.

Here is the revised lineup that the fans at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas will be treated to:

Preliminary Bouts:

Kenji Osawa vs. Rafael Rebello
Phil Cardella vs. Danny Castillo
Alex Karalexis vs. Greg McIntyre
Justin Haskins vs. Mike Pierce
Mike Budnik vs. John Franchi
Marcos Galvao vs. Damacio Page

Main Bouts:

Johny Hendricks vs. Alex Serdyukov
Marcus Hicks vs. Rob McCullough
Ricardo Lamas vs. Bart Palaszewski
Chris Mickle vs. Jose Aldo
Leonard Garcia vs. Mike Brown (WEC Featherweight Champion)
