Roy Jones Jr. and his Square Ring Promotions company has just inked Bobby Lashley and Ken Shamrock to headline the mixed martial arts portion of their boxing/MMA hybrid promotion, “March Badness,” at the Pensacola Civic Center in Florida.
RJJ’s March 21st event will mark the first hybrid event of this magnitude. The former eight-time boxing champion will headline the night’s pay-per-view card against Omar Sheika.

Lashley, a former WWE employee and two-time NAIA national wrestling champion, originally made his MMA debut this past December where he posted an impressive 41-second TKO of Joshua Franklin.

The American Top Team trained fighter will be facing one of MMA’s pioneers and a UFC Hall of Famer. The 45-year-old Shamrock was riding a four-and-a-half-year losing streak, however managed to finally get off of the snide after posting a 1stRound TKO over Ross Clifton.

Former EliteXC employee Seth Petruzelli, best known for his knockout of street fighting legend Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson, will be taking on Doug Marshall and former UFC heavyweight Jeff Monson will face IFL heavyweight champion Roy Nelson.
