UFC middleweight contender Yushin Okami will be returning to the Octagon at UFC 98 to face Dan Miller. Okami is one of the division’s top 185-fighters, however has never been granted a title shot. With an impressive win over the ever-dangerous Miller, Okami may get his chance at the belt soon.

Okami was dominant in his last outing at UFC 92 where he earned a convincing unanimous decision victory over the crafty Dean Lister.

“Yushin Okami will be getting a title shot. Definitely,” UFC president Dana White said a shortly after that fight.

Okami has won nine of his last 10 bouts, however his inability to speak English, coupled with his elusive and conservative style, has turned some fans away.

Interestingly enough, Okami was the last man to defeat current champion Anderson Silva, however the UFC has never used that to promote a fight between the two. However, the victory was not a clean one, as Silva was disqualified for landing an illegal knee in the 1stRound. That bout took place at “Rumble on the Rock 8” in 2006.

Miller is an IFL fallout that has walked through his first three UFC opponents. Shortly after signing with the UFC last year, Miller submitted Rob Kimmons at UFC Fight Night 15 in the 1stRound of their battle. He then went on to post a unanimous decision win over Matt Horwich at UFC 90, followed by a submission victory over Jake Rosholt at UFC Fight Night 17 just last month.

UFC 98 will be taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here are the other fighters Rumored to be competing at the May 23rd event:
