After a spectacular evening of MMA action at “UFC Fight Night 21,” company president Dana White awarded four contestants an extra $30,000 each for their special performances inside the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Ross Pearson and Dennis Siver took home Fight of the Night honors for their relentless 3Round battle. Although Siver fought valiantly, the Brit dominated the lightweight scrap from start to finish in collecting a unanimous decision victory.
Not only was Roy Nelson the largest fighter on the Spike TV broadcast, but he also posted the biggest finish of the night with his 39 second knockout of the up-and-coming Stefan Struve.
Kenny Florian looked absolutely sensational against Japanese superstar Takanori Gomi in the night’s main event. He controlled Gomi with his lightning-quick left jab for most of the first 2Rounds, however turned up the heat in the final stanza.
After eating a left, Florian slammed Gomi to the mat and sunk in a vicious rear-naked choke that forced Gomi to tap.
