With only 23 days until the curtain is drawn on their first ever pay-per-view broadcast, World Extreme Cagefighting has finally released the complete roster for their much-hyped “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber” event.
“This is one of the deepest cards we’ve ever put together,” WEC General Manager Harris stated. “From top to bottom, this event has the potential to produce some of the best fights of the year. And I’ve said all along that I think Aldo vs. Faber could be one of the best bouts of the decade. On April 24, fans are in for a real treat.”
The April 24th extravaganza will be jumping off inside Arco Arena in Sacramento, California and will feature a pair of title fights. Lightweight champion Ben Henderson will defend his strap in a highly anticipated rematch with Donald Cerrone.
Henderson captured the interim title at WEC 43 when he took a unanimous decision over the “Cowboy.”
Reigning WEC poster boy and former featherweight champ Urijah Faber will look to reclaim his title against current 145-pound king Jose Aldo in the night’s featured contest.
Faber owns a ridiculous 23-3 professional record, however the charismatic superstar has dropped two of his last four contests. Both losses came in championship bouts against Mike Brown.
Aldo, who holds an impressive 16-1 pro mark, has been tagged by many as a younger and longer version of Faber. The Brazilian captured the belt last November at WEC 44 when he earned a vicious 2ndRound TKO over Brown.
Tickets for Aldo vs. Faber are priced between $40-$185 and are available now on Ticketmaster.com. However, if you are not going to be in the Sacto area on the 24th, you’ll have to shell out $49.99 to watch the star-studded PPV broadcast.
