You didn’t think that the UFC would just sit on their hands while Strikeforce held their 2009 debut event did you? UFC 94 replay vs. “Shamrock vs. Diaz,” you decide.

Like they did in the past with Affliction Entertainment and EliteXC, the UFC and Spike TV will partner together in an attempt to protect what they feel is rightfully theirs.

As Strikeforce will be holding their Showtime event on April 11th, the UFC will broadcast a replay of UFC 94, which featured the highly anticipated rematch between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and BJ Penn.

Although UFC President Dana White has long maintained that he has the utmost respect for Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker, he will have no problem fighting Coker and Co. for viewers next month.

Strikeforce fans will only be required to have a Showtime subscription to watch the star-studded card that Coker has put together. The event will feature former UFC and Strikeforce champion Frank Shamrock slugging it out with lightweight sensation Nick Diaz. The two will meet at a catch-weight of 179 pounds.

Co-headlining the main event will be Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson defending his title against Gilbert Melendez, the man he dominated through 25 minutes to win it.

Which one will you choose? Tivo is always an option too.
