UFC 112 Preview: Terry Etim vs. Rafael dos Anjos

Although the co-main event at “UFC 112: Invincible” features a lightweight title bout between champ BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar, Terry Etim’s battle with Rafael dos Anjos could prove to be the most exciting 155-pound scrap of the night.

Etim owns an impressive 14-2 professional record and is perfect through his last four contests. Although his length has enabled him to be one of the division’s most dynamic strikers, the Brit’s submission skills are his bread and butter.

He has finished in all but one of his 14 wins, 11 coming by way of tapout.

The 25-year-old dos Anjos will be riding a three-fight winning streak into the Concert Arena in Abu Dhabi. He holds a 13-4 pro mark, however his victories vary in levels of excitement as six have come via electrifying submission, while the judges have awarded him the same amount of wins.

Despite their recent Octagon successes, the victor will have to post a resounding finish if they intend to be mentioned with Kenny Florian, Gray Maynard and Frankie Edgar as legitimate contenders to Penn’s crown.

This fight will ultimately hit the canvas at some point, however Etim may decide to keep it standing in order to take advantage of his superior striking.

Etim enters the contest a slight favorite at -165, while dos Anjos plays the role of underdog as he checks in at +135.
