Although the chances of it raining in Abu Dhabi this Saturday during “UFC 112: Invincible” are slim-to-none, UFC president Dana White revealed that the organization has no contingency plan if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
“It would have to be crazy for it to rain in Abu Dhabi,” White told Sportsnet.ca. “There’s no plan B if that happens.”
Although rain drops might not be falling on the fighter’s heads, there’s another angle that Mother Nature can attack from that could really make the event blow.
“Wind could be a factor and it’s very dusty and sandy there, I’m worried about the wind,” White admitted.
UFC 112 takes place at the Concert Arena inside the Ferrari World theme park. It will mark the first time an Octagon has been showcased outdoors. It’s also the UFC’s debut promotion with their Abu Dhabi-based partners, Flash Entertainment, who recently built the venue just for this event.
Maybe Dana and Co. can get in touch with Captain Planet’s Linka and see if she can ensure that UFC 112 goes off without a hitch.
