Murilo “Ninja” Rua

Going once, going twice, gone. After finding no takers in the United States, EliteXC’s first-ever middleweight champ, Murilo “Ninja” Rua, will be heading back overseas to live his Dream.

It is being reported the Brazilian will be competing against a yet-to-be determined Korean at Dream.8 on April 5th.

Ninja still had two fights remaining on his current EliteXC deal, however after the defunct organization went belly-up, Ninja was left unemployed.

Strikeforce obtained 40 fighter contracts from ProElite, however they passed on acquiring Ninja’s services.

The 28-year-old holds a 16-9-1 overall record, however fans last saw him attempting to block Benji Radach’s fists with his face at EliteXC: Heat last October. That tactic didn’t work out well for Rua, as he was TKO’d in the 2ndRound of their matchup.
