After having his bout against John Howard pulled out from underneath him, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson will now be taking on former TUF 7 contestant Matt Brown at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale on June 20th.
Just two weeks ago, Howard was scrapped from his bout with Johnson after he failed to submit his bout agreement to the organization. Since Howard chose not to autograph his, he can kiss the bout, and probably his UFC career, goodbye.
Brown is coming off of a sick performance against Pete Sell at UFC 96. Not since Anderson Silva’s barrage on Chris Leben’s melon in his Octagon debut back in 2006 have we witnessed such a one-sided stand-up affair.
Johnson remains one of the division’s hottest future stars. After avenging his “loss” to Kevin Burns at The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale, he parlayed that into a 1stRound TKO of Luigi Fioravanti at UFC Fight Night 17 last month.
