The official numbers are in for the UFC and Spike TV’s action packed MMA Wednesday. UFC Fight Night 18 captured 1.9 million viewers, and the debut of The Ultimate Fighter 9, which immediately followed the live event, held strong with 1.8 million viewers.

The two-hour FN18 event featured the disappointing Octagon debut of former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit as he lost a close split-decision to Martin Kampmann.

The card earned the top slot within their key demographics, Males 18-34 and 18-49.

The ratings were up slightly from Spike TV’s most recent UFC broadcast, UFC Fight Night 17, which drew 1.7 million viewers in early February.

FN18 preceded the debut episode of the hit reality show, “The Ultimate Fighter: U.S. vs. U.K.” Apparently the UFC fans needed more than just two hours of MMA action, as 1.8 million viewers stuck around for another 60 minutes, good enough to hit the top spot among Males 18-34 and 18-49.
