“UFC 112: Invincible” took place Saturday night at the Concert Arena in Abu Dhabi. After an interesting night of fights, seven contestants will be forced to sit the sidelines for injuries sustained in their respective scraps.
FightersOnly has obtained the medical suspension list for this weekend’s event. Demian Maia and Rick Story are potentially facing the longest stints on the IR, however they could be cleared sooner by a physician.
The unforgettable, yet uneventful, pay-per-view broadcast featured two title fights … sort of.
Although he fought valiantly, BJ Penn appeared overwhelmed by Frankie Edgar’s speed. The Jersey Boy pulled off one of the biggest upsets in MMA history with a unanimous decision win to capture the lightweight crown.
For his third straight title defense, Anderson Silva appeared more interested in showboating than elbowing. Silva taunted and teased Maia throughout the 5Rounds more than he bumped and bruised him.
Silva was able to easily take home a unanimous decision victory, however lost an infinite amount of supporters in the process.
