All of the fighters slated to compete in tomorrow night’s WEC 40 event tipped the scales today at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. The majority of the contestants, eventually – for the most part, made their required weights.
The night will be headlined by bantamweight champ Miguel Torres defending his title against Takeya Mizugaki. Torres, who has been the class of the division for quite some time, will be riding a 16-fight winning streak into his bout with the Japanese striker.
Mike Budnik was the only fighter that was unable to meet his maximum allotted weight. After multiple failed attempts, Rafael Dias accepted to take Budnik on at a catch weight of 149 pounds.
He has already been preparing for the guy for over four months, and now he can pocket at least 20% of his purse? Why not?
You can catch the main bouts airing LIVE on The Versus Network at 9PM EDT/6PM PDT on Sunday evening.
