For the second consecutive week, the Burger King sponsored “Outside the Octagon” segment, which airs during The Ultimate Fighter 9 commercial breaks, confirmed yet another future UFC bout.
Although it had been rumored for quite some time, former TUF 1 finalist Stephan Bonnar will be taking on UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman at UFC 100 on July 11th.
This is a must-win for both fighters as they are not only coming off losses, their performances in those respective bouts left a lot to be desired.
The 44-year-old Coleman wants to prove that he can still compete against the youngsters, while Bonnar is on a mission to show that he still belongs.
Coleman’s conditioning was a nightmare in his loss to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 93. After a fast start, he clearly gassed two minutes into the fight, and was unable to recover. To Coleman’s credit, Shogun wasn’t able to finish him off until the 3rdRound.
Bonnar was humiliated in his last Octagon outing by the up-and-coming Jon Jones, who manhandled Bonnar on his way to a lopsided unanimous decision victory at UFC 94.
