How do you help your state during an economic slump? If you ask UFC president Dana White, you simply allow the UFC to host an event after you agree to sanction mixed martial arts in your state.

According to a report from the Boston Herald, a State House hearing today could lead to the sport being sanctioned in the state of Massachusetts.

“Obviously the economy isn’t great and the fact is that we could bring significant dollars to Massachusetts,” said state Sen. James E. Timilty.

According to UFC president Dana White, a single UFC pay-per-view event in a market as large as Boston would generate roughly $25 million, however economists suggest the impact would be closer to the $12 million mark. Either way, it’s a lot of cheddar to pass on in today’s financial climate.

“…the list just goes on and on about why you’re a moron if you don’t let us come to your town,” stated the brash White.

We’ll see how things go after today’s hearings.
