After inciting the biggest riot in MMA history, Jason “Mayhem” Miller was asked to not attend the “Strikeforce: Nashville” post-fight-press conference – despite being the most wanted man inside the Bridgestone Arena.
Although the controversial middleweight was never allotted the opportunity to explain himself to the media directly, Miller did the next best thing by taking to his Twitter and leaving a simple comment for his childish behavior.
“Whoops,” Miller Tweeted after Saturday night’s melee.
After dominating veteran Dan Henderson for a unanimous decision victory to retain his middleweight crown, Jake Shields took the mic to discuss the most impressive win of his career. Unfortunately, “Mayhem” wasn’t too interested in hearing Shields’ celebratory speech and successfully stole the show.
Miller, the man Shields defeated for the open 185-pound title at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers,” lived up to his nickname by rudely interrupting the champ’s interview to demand a rematch for his unanimous decision loss in November.
Shields didn’t take too kindly to Miller’s antics and pushed him. Miller charged back, but was rudely greeted by Shields’ entourage, which included Strikeforce champs Gilbert Melendez and Nick Diaz, as well as his brother and UFC fighter Nate Diaz.
