A whirlwind day has come to an end for Thiago Silva, as he now has a new opponent after finding out that he had been replaced by Anderson Silva in a bout against former UFC light heavyweight champ Forrest Griffin at UFC 101.
MMAJunkie is reporting that UFC officials have moved Thiago’s next fight three weeks back and will put him against another former “Ultimate Fighter” alum in Keith Jardine at UFC 102.
The bout, which has verbally been agreed upon, will most likely serve as the lead-in to the main event, which will feature former UFC heavyweight champions Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
Both Jardine and Silva are coming off losses in their last fights, to Quinton Jackson and Lyoto Machida respectively, and will look to rebound as they attempt to work their way back up a very crowded light heavyweight division.
