Earlier this week, Rich Franklin stated that he would call upon UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva to help him prepare for his UFC 99 bout against Wanderlei Silva, who happens to be a former training partner of Anderson’s. Wandy says that Franklin can do what he wants, he’s gonna lose anyways.
“It’s smart, because Silva has a lot of techniques,” Wanderlei told MMAWeekly. “It’s possible for him to train with who he wants. For me, it doesn’t matter, because I’m going to beat him. It’s possible he could train with Mike Tyson – I’m going to beat him.”
Oddly enough, as of Monday evening, Anderson told the popular Brazilian website Tateme.com that it was the first time he had heard of Franklin’s plans to join his training sessions.
Either way, Wandy sees no problem with it.
“It’s a professional time for MMA, and everybody needs to go to the best place for having the best options,” said Silva. “Maybe Anderson is a good option for him, because Anderson beat him two times.”
The two brawlers will be meeting at a catch-weight bout of 195 lbs on June 13th in what will mark the UFC’s first-ever event in Germany.
