Miller Lets His Fists do Talking

UFC middleweight Dan Miller has made quite the impression since entering the UFC three victories ago. Although he would be the last person to brag about his MMA game, his fists have spoken loudly for him.

“(My brother and UFC lightweight) Jimmy and I are pretty quiet,” Miller said. “We don’t really talk much crap. We basically just go in and fight and do our job. That’s it.”

Although Miller is proud of his three previous performances inside the Octagon, he feels that he is ready to start taking on the division’s upper echelon. In fact, he would like to do that sooner rather than later as it is the shortest distance to a shot at the crown.

“I’m happy with what they’ve given me so far, but it does (frustrate me) a little bit,” said Miller. “I believe I can compete with the higher level. Coming in and fighting, [the UFC] basically gives you the ground-level guys at first. So yeah, it frustrates you a little bit.

“If I keep winning, I’m going to have to wait longer for my shot.”

It will be Miller time at UFC 98 as he will be taking on former WEC top contender Chael Sonnen on May 28th.

Sonnen was thoroughly dominated by Demian Maia in his UFC debut. Before getting submitted in the 2ndRound of that UFC 95 fight, he had won seven of his last eight contests.

Considering what is at stake for him, Miller continues to just go about his business. In fact, he is just happy to be here.

“I’m extremely excited to be part of this card,” Miller stated. “It’s going to be fun to be out there and fight on the card. I wish I could watch it, but it’s going to be great to fight on it.”
