With Kim Couture’s recent decision to withdraw from her “ShoMMA: Strikeforce Challenger” bout against Miesha Tate, the organization has inked the undefeated Sarah Kaufman as her replacement.
Strikeforce Director of Marketing Mike Afromowitz confirmed early this morning that fight contracts have been signed, and this female bout will remain on the televised portion of the Showtime broadcast.
Due to reports of an impending divorce from UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, Kim was forced to pull out of the May 15th scrap.
Tate is riding a four-fight winning streak, finishing in three of those affairs.
Kaughman, who is one of the world’s best female up-and-comers, fully intends on using Showtime as her stage to perform.
“I wouldn’t have taken the fight if I didn’t think I could really showcase what I’m able to do,” Kaufman said. “I feel really good.
“As soon as I heard that Kim was out, right away I was talking to my coach saying, ‘I think I should do it. I think I should take this fight.'”
