FightMetric: Inside the Numbers of “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber”

The good people over at FightMetric have compiled all the data from Saturday night’s main event between WEC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and former king Urijah Faber.

If you watched last night’s pay-per-view broadcast, the numbers confirm exactly what fans saw live as the Brazilian successfully defended his title while barely being touched.

The stats are broken down in the picture below. Aldo was nearly flawless in taking a lopsided unanimous decision victory over the man that ruled the division not too long ago.

Aldo landed 93 of 116 head strikes (80%) and missed only two of his leg kicks. The striker continued to chop down “The California Kid” throughout their entire battle.

How accurate was Aldo with his devastating kicks? The champ was an astonishing 27 of 29 (93%) with his leg kicks and 25 of 26 (96%) in power kicks to Faber’s legs.
