InTheGuard is reporting that Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares has fractured his tibia and will be unable to compete in his UFC 101 fight against Alessio Sakara.

Although the bout was never officially signed, it was expected to be announced as an untelevised bout in the UFC’s debut event in Philadelphia.

There’s no word as to whether or not the UFC will look to find another opponent for Sakara or just scrap the fight all together.

Reports state Palhares will be out a minimum of 60 days and that he’s already had surgery to correct the problem.
