Dream and HDNet confirmed today that they will be broadcasting their Dream.9 event LIVE in North America. The highly anticipated card will host an eight-man “Super Hulk Tournament,” which will feature former MLB steroid abuser Jose Canseco.

“Who doesn’t want to see Jose Canseco take on Hong Man Choi in the U.S. in the middle of the night?” HDNet Fights CEO Andrew Simon jokingly asked. “We have over 34 events on air this year. One thing we’re committed to is bringing events live when we can.”

It is HDNet’s discretion on whether they air Japanese MMA events LIVE in the wee hours of the North American morning or broadcast them on a multi-day tape-delay, as they did with Dream.8 earlier this month.

However, the response Dream and HDNet received after they announced the participants in the Super Hulk Tourney must have been sick, leaving them no choice but to air the event at 3AM EDT/12:00AM PDT on May 26th.

The controversial Canseco will be taking on the 7′2″ Korean behemoth Choi in the 1stRound of the tourney, popular K-1 fighter Bob Sapp will be facing Ikuhisa “Minowaman” Minowa, Jan Nortje will be fighting UFC fallout Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Dream middleweight king Gegard Mousasi will battle Mark Hunt.

The show will also feature the 2ndRound of Dream’s Featherweight and Middleweight Grand Prix Tournaments.
