“The Ultimate Fighter” ain’t got nothin’ on Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson, as MMA’s true-life reality drama has taken yet another twist. Ortiz is now out on bail and “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” came out firing.
Late Monday night, Ortiz held a press conference at a North Hollywood, CA restaurant to reiterate his innocence. However, the former UFC light heavyweight champion didn’t stop there. Ortiz claims his longtime girlfriend and mother of his 13-month-old twin boys is addicted to Oxycontin, a popular prescription pain killer, and that was the primary cause of the altercation.
“My parents have gone through an addiction, and I’ve seen a mirror again, and I’m not going to let my family go through that,” a teary-eyed Ortiz stated. “I speak from the heart, and as I say … I hold everything dear to my heart that Jenna will be ok.”
Ortiz’s personal attorney, Chip Matthews, spoke for the remainder of the presser and didn’t take any questions. However, he emphasized on multiple occasions that, “Tito never touched Jenna.”
“Unfortunately, Jenna relapsed this morning and suffered the consequences of that,” Matthews said of the drug Jameson has been hooked on for a year. “We’re here because Tito was trying to help her.”
Earlier in the day, Jameson told TMZ.com she injured her left arm in the ruckus and felt the need to alert authorities after recent domestic violence cases in Hollywood.
“He didn’t beat me,” Jameson clarified. “We had an argument, and it escalated, and things got out of control … the cops were called, and because there were visible marks on me, they took him to jail.
“I know I did the right thing, and after watching what happened to Rihanna, I knew that I had to call the police. I’m just going to work on my relationship with him, and hope it works out.”
However, the former porn star was singing a different tune after hearing what Ortiz said after posting $25,000 bail. Jameson’s side of the story is that she “said something very hurtful to his ego” and then Ortiz “threw me into the bathtub and tore two ligaments in my shoulder.”
“He’s trying to save his career,” Jameson said as she hopped in a car destined for Vegas.
En route to Nevada, Jameson took to her Twitter account for some closing remarks.
“Its’ sad Tito had to resort to attacking my character. I am being strong for my children, and I hope he feels a bit better now.”
“I am officially crushed…. I have so much I could say, but I refuse to ruin Tito…I will never be the same, I lost the love of my life.”
“Surprised so many of you believe Tito’s allegations.”
Despite the empty beds that are available at the home he and Jameson share, Ortiz must stay away because of the temporary restraining order that was granted after his arrest.
It is being reported that Jameson’s father is currently watching over the twins at the scene of the crime.
