WEC Poster 48: Aldo vs. Faber

Spike TV has just released the ratings for Saturday night’s broadcast of “Aldo vs. Faber Prelims Live.” The hour-long event featured the instant classic between Leonard Garcia and Chang Sung Jung, recipients of Fight of the Night honors.

Anthony Pettis posted a spectacular triangle choke finish over “The Ultimate Fighter” alum Alex Karalexis in the other live freebie bout.

Although the show drew an audience of one million viewers, it came in a little lower than a typical “UFC Prelim” telecast. Those shows have averaged a little over 1.4 million viewers over six Octagon events.

“Aldo vs. Faber” was a WEC promotion, but with a complete UFC twist to it. Dana White promoted the show and UFC commentators Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan were on mic duties. As expected, there was no UFC logo in sight, however there wasn’t a WEC one either.

Here are the numbers of the past “UFC Prelim” shows aired on Spike TV:

UFC 103: 1.4 million viewers
UFC 104: 1.4 million viewers
UFC 106: 1.3 million viewers
UFC 108: 1.5 million viewers
UFC 109: 1.7 million viewers
UFC 111: 1.2 million viewers
