Former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlvoski will make his official Strikeforce debut against undefeated Brett Rogers at the organization’s June 6th show.
Showtime’s long-time ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. broke the news about the heavyweight clash at today’s “Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields” press conference inside the Atrium at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
Arlovski was last spotted eating canvas at Affliction’s “Day of Reckoning” event after WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko slapped him with a devastating right hand.
Rogers boasts a perfect 9-0 professional record, with each win ending before the fight’s final horn. In fact, only his most recent opponent, Ron “Abongo” Humphrey, has been able to survive past the 1stRound.
Humphrey was later knocked out in the 2ndRound for his troubles.
This will prove to be a tough contest for both fighters, however Arlovski has gone head-on with some of the world’s best. Rogers has never faced a fighter with a resume as extensive and impressive as “The Pitbull.”
Here is the roster that is Rumored to be airing on Showtime at 10 PM EDT/PDT:
