Via a Twitter posting, the UFC announced that heavyweight Heath Herring will be forced to pull out of his UFC 99 scrap against Cain Velasquez due to an undisclosed injury. The Tweet also stated that a sub would be announced by Wednesday.
The UFC may not to need to look very far after Monday’s turn of events.
Heavyweight star Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic announced his intentions to end his two-year Octagon hiatus and face Mustapha Al-Turk. Al-Turk was initially slated to face Todd Duffee, however the promotion opted to bump Duffee from the card.
No heavyweight replacement has yet to be found for Duffee … get where we are going with this?
