It’s been five days since reigning featherweight champ Jose Aldo chopped away at Urijah Faber’s left leg at WEC 48. Time might heal all wounds, but the latest picture Faber Tweeted indicates he’s going to be on the sidelines for quite some time.
Aldo unleashed a thrashing on Faber’s lead leg throughout the scrap – specifically in the opening rounds – battering it to the point that it forced the hometown hero to fight the championship rounds on just one leg.
The Brazilian had demanded to make his first title defense against the division’s former king in his own backyard, and backed it up by cruising to a lopsided unanimous decision victory in front of the Arco Arena crowd.
Although Faber has now lost three of his last five fights, “The California Kid” has remained in good spirits as he’s been sharing with fans how his left wheel is recovering.
