Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz will not be fighting on June 26th in the promotion’s show in Los Angeles after his role in the post-fight brawl which took place at “Strikeforce: Nashville.”
CEO Scott Coker confirmed that any fighter that could’ve possibly competed at the Nokia Theatre on June 26th will be removed until the Tennessee Athletic Commission is able to hand down any suspensions.
Jason “Mayhem” Miller, the middleweight who instigated the brawl, was originally slated to headline the card against Robbie Lawler, but has since been replaced by Renato “Babalu” Sobral.
“No one in that was involved with that situation (in Nashville) was scheduled to fight in June,” Coker told MMAJunkie.
Even though Diaz faces a potential suspension in the United States, he’s still scheduled to fight at Dream.14 on May 29th against Hayato “Mach” Sakurai.
