It didn’t take the UFC long to find a replacement for injured light heavyweight Forrest Griffin, as it’s being reported Jason Brilz will step-in on less than four weeks notice to face Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 114.
MMAJunkie.com is reporting that verbal agreements have been made and bout contracts should be signed and submitted shortly.
Brilz was last seen posting a unanimous decision victory over Eric Schafer at “UFC on Versus” in March. He holds a respectable 18-2-1 professional record overall.
Nogueira owns a 18-3 mark and looked sensational in his long-awaited Octagon debut this past November. The veteran humbled Luis Arthur Cane with a 1stRound TKO at UFC 106. It was his sixth consecutive victory.
UFC 114 takes place May 29th inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
