For the those of you interested in paying $24.95 to “be the director” of Strikeforce’s “Lawler vs. Shields” event, we got some good news for you. The organization and Showtime have decided to bring back their “Strikeforce: All Access” package for this Saturday’s show.
“With our first event on April 11, we set the bar at a new level,” Showtime Sports senior vice president and general manager Ken Hershman stated. “From the quality of the fights, to the television production and the interactive applications, our first offering of ‘All Access’ was well-received. This network has proven time and time again to be on the cutting edge of sports entertainment. ‘All Access’ further demonstrates our commitment to leading the television industry in online, mobile and interactive content distribution.”
For all you hardcore MMA fans, pre-ordering on strikeforce.sho.com begins on Thursday and will allow you exclusive access to the following:
- Option to toggle between five different cameras, with all angles coming with full pause and rewind capabilities.
- Showtime’s Sports CageCam – A crystal-clear camera worn by the referees that puts you directly in the cage.
- Commentary from Showtime’s talented broadcast team of Gus Johnson, Mauro Ranallo and Frank Shamrock will be available on all cameras.
“All Access” jumps off at 10 PM ET/PT, at the start of Saturday’s televised bouts (Yes, it does indeed suck that it’s not LIVE for everyone, but what you gonna do?).
Former EliteXC middleweight champ Robbie Lawler will take on welterweight sensation Jake Shields at a catch-weight bout of 182 pounds in the night’s main event.
If that wasn’t enough, opening for them will be former UFC heavyweight king Andrei Arlovski taking on the undefeated Brett Rogers. Nick Diaz will also meet Scott Smith at a catch-weight of 180-lbs.
