Ben Rothwell

Affliction Entertainment VP Tom Atencio announced at today’s “Affliction: Trilogy” presser that they have just inked a heavyweight fight between veteran Ben Rothwell and Chase Gormley.

The presser was held in NYC to promote their highly anticipated August 1st fight card, with a follow-up press conference slated for tomorrow in Los Angeles.

Rothwell, a former IFL heavyweight champ, lost to former UFC champion Andrei Arlovsi in Affliction’s debut event,  “Banned,” last July. He currently holds an impressive 30-6 pro record, with his most recent victory coming against Chris Guillen at Adrenaline MMA II this past December.

Although Gormley claims a perfect 6-0 MMA record, it has come against C-level talent, so this will clearly be his toughest challenge to date. He recently won a unanimous decision over Eric Pele at “MFC 16 – Anger Management.”

Here are the fighters Rumored to be scrapping inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California:

Brett Cooper vs. TBD
Deividas Taurosevicius vs. TBD
